Tudor Pop, founder and principal engineer

Tudor Pop founded Kitecorp after scaling consumer products to millions of users for T-Mobile, Verizon and TMcell and building platforms for mimedia.com, sliide.com, eppione.com and transferify.eu. He is the author of Kite, an open-source infrastructure-as-code language.

Tudor is on every Kitecorp engagement. His background is the kind of scaling that happens in public: consumer cloud services sold through mobile operators, where the user count arrives on launch day and the operator’s support line is the first to know when something fails. The practices that came out of that work (capacity planned from the surge, load tests to the breaking point, on-call built around pages a person can act on) are the practices Kitecorp brings to every client.

Before founding Kitecorp he built and ran platforms for mimedia.com, sliide.com, eppione.com and transferify.eu, across AWS, GCP and Azure, on Kubernetes and on plain compute, with Terraform and Ansible for infrastructure and Argo CD, Flux, Jenkins, GitHub Actions and GitLab CI for delivery. Real-time systems (WebRTC, WebSockets) and large data migrations recur throughout.

He is the author of Kite, an open-source infrastructure-as-code language, which is how he keeps the infrastructure practice honest: every rough edge a client hits in the existing tools becomes a design question.
